Searching for creativity from the inside out.
Do you know the saying, “Do what you love, love what you do?”
I have a sign in my studio saying just that and it has been on my mind lately. So many times, we seek external creative stimulus. I’ve done it (*cough* Pinterest…. *cough*), and imagine that I will do it again through conversations with other creatives, books I’ve read/will read, or articles on creativity I’ve been stacking up. But the reason that saying is still stuck in my brain…? It’s because it’s RIGHT.
If you do what you love, you will love what you do. And you know what? You will also be MORE creative.
Right – so this sounds idyllic. How does this translate into real life?
For me, this translates through the creation and observation of Heart Maps. It’s like a brain map in that it’s a holding spot for your thoughts, but it’s more than that in that your intention is to fill the heart space with things that you love. Musical things, non musical things…human things, animal things…. tangible things, invisible things…. Whatever your heart needs, fill up your space.
When I make my heart maps, I am able to look at the things I love AND love the things that I do. I would love it if you would join me in making a heart map, and filling it full of the things that you love. For in those things, your creativity will blossom from the inside out.
Yours in creativity,
